How Birchstone Coffee Co. Was Born
I’ve always loved coffee. It’s been part of my life for as long as I can remember — the first thing I look forward to every morning, and often the thing that keeps my day moving.
For years, I dreamed of starting something of my own. I didn’t know exactly what shape it would take, but I knew it had to be something I could be proud of — something that reflected where I’m from, what I value, and the place I call home.
That’s where Birchstone Coffee Co. began.
A Brand Rooted in New England
Birchstone represents more than just coffee. It’s a reflection of the outdoors and the landscapes that make New England so special — the water, the trees, the mountains, and the rocky coastline that gives New Hampshire its Granite State name.
The name Birchstone came naturally: the birch tree has always been my favorite — strong, adaptable, and unmistakably New England — while stone honors the granite and rugged shorelines that shape the region I love.
This brand is a small tribute to all of that — to nature, craft, and community.
From Passion to Purpose
Coffee has always been more than a drink to me. It’s a daily ritual — one that brings comfort, focus, and connection. I love exploring new cafés when I travel, trying different styles and roasts, and seeing how each one tells its own story through flavor and design.
When I started thinking about how to bring my own story to life, I realized I didn’t want to open another café (at least, not yet). There are already so many great ones across New England (many of which I love to visit).
Instead, I wanted to bring coffee to the people — wherever they gather.
That’s how the idea of a mobile espresso cart was born.
Why a Coffee Cart
A full-size truck or café is a big leap, and I wanted to start in a way that allowed for creativity and flexibility. A coffee cart felt right — small enough to get started quickly, but with the same attention to detail as a high-end café.
It gives me the chance to bring handcrafted espresso drinks to weddings, corporate events, and community gatherings — and to create something that feels personal, photo-worthy, and memorable.
It’s more than a cart; it’s an experience.
Giving Back to the Outdoors
From day one, I knew Birchstone had to stand for something beyond good coffee. The outdoors has always inspired me — from hiking trails and forest paths to the rocky coastline that shapes our region.
That’s why Birchstone Coffee Co. pledges 1% of profits to support outdoor and conservation efforts across New Hampshire, Maine, and beyond. It’s a small way to give back to the places that have given me so much inspiration.
Looking Ahead
The future for Birchstone is wide open — and that’s the exciting part.
Maybe it grows into multiple carts serving more events across New England. Maybe someday there’s a Birchstone café tucked somewhere along the Seacoast.
For now, I’m focused on building this cart, creating meaningful experiences, and serving coffee that reflects the same care and craft that went into starting this journey.
Because Birchstone Coffee Co. isn’t just about coffee — it’s about connection, place, and the simple joy of a well-made cup shared with others.
